چکیده
Our aim is to provide a new edition with translation and commentary of the second column P. Berol. 7927 + 9588 21179, corresponding so-called Parthenope’s Novel. The first was also edited by us in Journal Juristic Papyrology 28(2016), pp. 235–50. original, perhaps one Greek novels, produced long complex tradition versions prose verse Christian martyrology, translated into different languages (Greek, Arab, Persian Coptic). Although our text badly preserved difficult read, we offer proposals reading that allow better understanding novel its rich literary context.

The tallest column — optimality revisited
The problem of the optimal design of the tallest unloaded column under selfweight is revisited with a view towards clarifying the optimality of the design proposed by Keller and Niordson (The Tallest Column, J. Math. Mech. 16 (1966), pp. 433–446). The height of the tallest column is related to the rst eigenvalue of a Sturm–Liouville operator. Since the operator associated with the Keller–Niords...
متن کاملDual Inequalities for Stabilized Column Generation Revisited
Column generation (CG) models have several advantages over compact formulations, namely, they provide better LP bounds, may eliminate symmetry, and can hide non-linearities in their subproblems. However, users also encounter drawbacks in the form of slow convergency a.k.a. the tailing-off effect and the oscillation of the dual variables. Among different alternatives for stabilizing the CG proce...
متن کاملGarbled RAM Revisited, Part II
In EUROCRYPT 2013, Lu and Ostrovsky proposed the notion of Garbled RAM (GRAM) programs. These GRAM programs are analogous to the classic result of Yao’s garbled circuits: a large encrypted memory can first be provided to evaluator, and then a program can separately be garbled and sent to an evaluator to securely execute while learning nothing but the output of the program and its running time. ...
متن کاملQUICKSELECT Revisited
We give an overview of the running time analysis of the random divide-and-conquer algorithm FIND or QUICKSELECT. The results concern moments, distribution of FIND’s running time, the limiting distribution, a stochastic bound and the key: a stochastic fixed point equation.
متن کاملRevisited abundance diagnostics in quasars : Fe II / Mg II ratios
Both the Fe II UV emission in the 2000−3000 Å region (Fe II(UV)) and resonance emission line complex of Mg II at 2800 Å are prominent features in quasar spectra. The observed Fe II(UV)/Mg II emission ratios have been proposed as means to measure the buildup of the Fe abundance relative to that of the α-elements C, N, O, Ne and Mg as a function of redshift. The current observed ratios show large...
